VOLUNTEER IN UGANDA

Educaring Africa's Ugandan partner NGO Africa Sustainable Tourism Care Foundation offers willing volunteers from all around the world an eco-tourism based volunteering opportunity like no other. Based in Kahangi Village in amongst the breathtaking tea plantations and national parks of Western Uganda, the experienced and friendly team at ASTCF specialises in sustainable development projects for its beneficiary communities. Educaring Africa is a proud partner of the grassroots organisation and is helping assist with a number of its projects and promoting its volunteer program. ASTCF offers a diverse and challenging range of volunteer programs that have a profound and meaningful impact on the local community. Its key focus towards all of its operations is sustainability and promoting tourism in Uganda to the world. Through a range of projects centred on women, youth, biodiversity, micro-finance, water sanitation, education, healthcare and wildlife conservation, volunteers are guaranteed a wonderful Ugandan experience with ASTCF. All volunteers are also encouraged to consult with ASTCF prior to undertaking a program and to also find out what additional funds and resources it can help raise to contribute to its project. Your Accommodation & Tourism opportunities

ASTCF offers volunteers two wonderful accommodation options. Both houses offer quality and safe accommodation for all volunteers and are located within the beautiful surrounds of the Kibale National Park and scenic tea plantations. The first house is more a western style accommodation, which includes hot showers, large kitchen and living room with tv and WiFi and wonderful hilltop views overlooking Fort Portal. The second house is located right in the heart of ASTCF's project area in Kahangi Village and offers volunteers a more authentic African experience with hot bucket showers and pit latrine toilets. However, the house also comes fitted with high speed WiFi! Both houses also come complete with beds fitted with mosquito nets. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided as part of your package.
While ASTCF's project offers a wonderful eco-tourism opportunity in its own right, Uganda is home to some of Africa's best tourism opportunities and Fort Portal is easily accessible to many of them. Some popular attractions include chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park, Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park, a Stay at a resort in the Great Lakes District, the King's palace in Fort Portal or a Boat ride along the source of the Nile River and Lake Victoria. There are also a number of wonderful game reserves for volunteers to go on safari during their time away.
