OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19
The outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impacts on international travel have severely affected our local communities in Malawi and UGANDA. Without volunteers to help run our programs and vital income to support service delivery, our communities are some of the most vulnerable to the impacts of this virus. While our volunteer programs have been forcibly suspended until further notice, Educaring africa is continuing to support its development partners in Malawi and Uganda by providing much need funds and resources which support awareness and sanitation in coordination with local health authorities. A donation to Educaring Africa will assist in helping provide the following:
Awareness
Information campaign to help raise awareness of personal hygiene and social distancing

Sanitation
Purchase and provide soap and clean water to thousands of vulnerable people

WASH Stations
Establish WASH stations in each village to help promote good sanitation and hygiene

PPE
Provide personal protection equipment, such as gloves and masks to first respondents

In addition, we are using this opportunity to help fast track support for completing our medical clinic in Malawi. The local clinic is in its final stages of construction and when complete, will provide an important medical, sanitation and testing facility that will assist in mitigating the spread of the virus, as well as provide much-needed basic healthcare to thousands of local people in the Monkey Bay region.
